ચંદનની તસ્કરી આમ તો વર્ષોથી થાય છે. પરંતુ તાજેતરમાંજ ચંદન તસ્કરી પર પ્રદર્શીત થયેલી એક ફિલ્મ બાદ જાણે ફરી ચંદનચોરીની હેરફેર માટે ટોળકીઓ સક્રિય થઇ હોય તેમ કચ્છના મુન્દ્રા પોર્ટ પરથી 2 મહિનામાં ચંદન ચોરીનું બીજુ કારસ્તાન ઝડપાયુ છે. લુધીયાણાથી ટ્રેન મારફતે મુન્દ્રા આવેલા એક શંકાસ્પદ કન્ટેનરને DRI એ ચોક્કસ બાતમીને આધારે MICT માં અટકાવ્યુ હતુ. અને તપાસ દરમ્યાન ચોખાની આડમાં દુબઇ જતુ કરોડો રૂપીયાનું પ્રતિબંધીત ચંદન ઝડપાઇ ગયુ હતુ. DRI એ આ મામલે વધુ તપાસ હાથ ધરી છે.
હજુ બે માસ પહેલા જ મુન્દ્રા પોર્ટ પરથી ચંદનનો જથ્થો ઝડપાયો હતો. અગાઉ કરોડો રૂપીયાના ડ્રગ્સ ઝડપાવા મામલે ચર્ચામાં આવેલા અદાણી મુન્દ્રા બંદરે ચંદન હેરફરની શક્યતાઓ પછી એજન્સીઓ સક્રિય હતી તેવામાં બે મહિના પહેલા બ્રાન્સની આડમાં મોકલાતો 6 કરોડનો ચંદનનો જથ્થો ઝડપાયો હતો. ત્યારે DRI ગઇકાલે લુધીયાણાથી મુન્દ્રા બંદરે આવેલા એક કન્ટેનરને અટકાવ્યુ હતુ. અને તેમાંથી 117 લાકડા ચંદનના મળ્યા હતા 5 ટન જથ્થાની અંદાજીત કિંમત 3 કરોડથી વધુ થવા જાય છે. મોકલનાર પેઢી સહિતની વિગતો મેળવવા માટે DRI વધુ તપાસ ચલાવી રહ્યું છે.

મુન્દ્રા પોર્ટ પર તાજેતરમાં જ ડ્રગ્સ, શંકાસ્પદ ભંગારના જથ્થા સહિતની વસ્તુઓની હેરફેર માટેનો ઉપયોગ એજન્સીની તપાસમાં ખુલ્યો છે. તેવામાં હવે ચંદન તસ્કરી માટે પણ ફરી મુન્દ્રા પોર્ટ પર દાણચોરો ચક્રિય થતા એજન્સીઓ વધુ સતર્ક બની છે. જોકે હજારોની સંખ્યામાં દૈનીક કન્ટેનરની હેરફેર વચ્ચે કસ્ટમ અને DRI સહિતની એજન્સીઓ વધુ સક્રિય બને તો આવી અનેક વસ્તુઓની ગેરકાયદેસર હેરફેરનો પ્રર્દાફાશ થાય તેમ છે.
