કચ્છના મોટા ભાગના ગામડાઓમાં દાતાઓના સહિયારા પ્રયાસોથી મૂંગા પશુઓ માટે ઘાસચારાનું નીરણ આપવામાં આવી રહ્યું છે. પરિવારના સભ્યનો જન્મ દિવસ હોય કે લગ્નની વર્ષગાંઠ કે પછી નિર્વાણ તિથિ હોય, જીવદયા પ્રેમીઓ દ્વારા હાલ ઉનાળાના જરૂરતના સમયે પશુઓને ચારો નાખવાનું પુણ્ય કરી રહ્યા છે.
નખત્રાણા તાલુકાના ભીટારા ગામના વથાણમાં દાયકાઓથી ઉનાળાના બેથી ત્રણ માસ સુધી લીલો આજે સૂકો ઘાસચારો નાખવામાં આવે છે આ નીરણ હાલ પશુઓ માટે આશીર્વાદ રૂપ બન્યું છે. એક તરફ સીમાડમાં ઘાસનું તણખલું જોવા નથી મળી રહ્યું ત્યારે કપરા સંજોગોમાં દાતાઓ અબોલ પશુઓની વહારે આવ્યા છે.
ભિટારા ગામના સ્થાનિક તેમજ ધંધાર્થે દેશાવર રહેતા સખાવતી દાતાઓના સહકારથી દાયકાઓથી ઘાસચારાનું નિરણ કરવામાં આવે છે. જેમાં પાલતુ પશુઓને તો પશુઓના માલિકો દ્વારા ખોરાક મળી રહે છે, પરંતુ રખડતા પશુઓને ચારા માટે ફાંફાં મારવા પડે છે. સીમાડામાં ઘાસનું તણખલું પણ ન હોવાથી રખડિયાત પશુઓ માટે આવા પ્રકારના નીરણ સ્થળો જ જીવન જીવવા આધારભૂત બની રહે છે. સ્થાનિકે ચારો મર્યાદિત પ્રમાણમાં હોવાથી જ્યાં સુધી મળે ત્યાં સુધી સ્થાનિકે અને સ્થાનિકે ન મળે તો ઠેઠ ભુજ થી લીલો ચારો મંગાવીને નીરણ કરવામાં આવે છે. કોઈ સંજોગોમાં લીલો ચારો ન મળે તો સૂકા ચારાનું નિરણ પણ કરવામાં આવી રહ્યાનું બાદલ જોશીએ કહ્યું હતું. ઉલ્લેખનીય છે કે એકાદ માસ ચાલે તેટલો સૂકો ચારો પશુઓ માટે બફર સ્ટોક તરીકે વર્ષોથી રાખવામાં આવે છે.
લીલો ચારો 170 રૂપિયે મણ પડતો હોવા છતાં પણ સખાવતી દાતાઓ અને સ્થાનિકે સેવાભાવી યુવા વર્ગની જહેમતથી સહિયારા પ્રયાસોથી આગામી વરસાદ સુધી નીરણ નાખવામાં આવશે તેવું સ્થાનિક સેવાભાવી યુવાનોએ જણાવ્યું છે.
