ભારે બહુમતી સાથે બીજી વખત સત્તા પર આવેલી મોદી સરકારનું પહેલું બજેટ પાંચ જૂલાઇએ રજૂ થશે. જો કે આ વખતે નાણાપ્રધાન નિર્મલા સિતારમણ છે અને તેઓ આ બજેટ રજૂ કરશે ત્યારે તેઓ અર્થતંત્ર સામે ઊભા થયેલા પડકારોના સંદર્ભમાં બજેટમાં કયાં પ્રકારની જોગવાઇઓ કરે છે એ જોવાનું રહેશે. બજેટથી બધાને આશા છે. ર૦૧૮ – ‘૧૯ ના ચોથા કવાર્ટરમાં છેલ્લાં પાંચ વર્ષનો સૌથી ઓછો ગ્રોથ-રેટ નોંધાયો છે. આજથી એક વર્ષ પહેલાં ગ્રોથ-રેટ ૭.ર ટકા હતો, જયારે સમગ્ર નાણાકીય વર્ષનો ગ્રોથ-રેટ ૬.૮ ટકા રહેવાની ધારણા છે. બજેટ પહેલાં નાણાપ્રધાન ૧૧ થી ર૩ જુન વચ્ચે અર્થશાસ્ત્રીઓ, ઉદ્યોગોનાં સંગઠનો અને ઉદ્યોગપતિઓ સાથે મુલાકાત કરશે, જયારે ર૦ જૂને મળનારી જીએસટી કાઉન્સિલની બેઠકમાં તમામ રાજયોના નાણાપ્રધાનો પાસે સુચનો મગાવાશે.
